Meet Karthik

Karthik founded Mydbops in 2016 with one idea: open-source databases deserve the same depth of care that enterprise teams expect from commercial vendors. Today he leads the company as it builds agentic AI for database operations across MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and TiDB.

Before Mydbops, he was Tech Lead MySQL DBA at Yahoo!, where he managed 600+ servers, including the 2 TB Flickr shards, and was the prime DBA for Right Media and Yahoo Ads. His work spans high availability, data sync, backup and recovery, and performance tuning, with a particular love for MySQL, its forks (Percona Server and MariaDB) and Linux.
